Today I'm going to be doing a review on a service called AdFly. It's primarily used as a URL shortening service that will pay you anytime that anyone visits your website or that URL. It also doubles ads in advertising platforms for people that are looking for cheap website traffic. With AdFly you get paid to share your links on the internet. All you need to do is register for an account, start shrinking your URL and get paid every time someone visits that URL. It's pretty straight forward.AdFly offers 2 different types of advertising:Interstitial Advertising – when an advertisement shows up when a visitor going from one website to another. It shows up in the in between. For example, sometimes people refer to a landing page that'll ask you to confirm your age for entering a site.Leaderboard Banner Advertising – the ads will appear as a banner at the target page.
If you go on the advertising tab at the bottom of the AdFly website, you can see that the pricing is very cheap. Interstitial ads go for $1.00 per thousand visitors. If you're looking for cheap traffic to your website you can definitely get that at AdFly. I decided to test this out and I paid $9.00, expecting to get 9,000 visitors to my site. I checked my Google Analytics account to see what I got for the $9.00 I spent at AdFly.The traffic started coming into my site the day I purchased it and it lasted for 11 days. It kind of started slow at 291 visitors on the first day and peaked at 3,245 visitors on day 8. Then it continued to plummet down until 0 visitors on the 11th day. In totally I received 11,930 visitors which 11,062 of them were unique from using AdFly, which was more than I paid for. Just to make a note when I purchased this advertising from AdFly, there was an option for choosing which specific region I wanted traffic coming in from. I chose US-based traffic, but when I looked through my Google Analytics account to verify where my traffic came from, US was number 4 on the list of percentages and most of my traffic was coming from Thailand and other parts of Asia.
I've been getting a lot of questions about AdFly and if it really is worth using or if it's just another waste of time and money on the internet. Today I'm going to be discussing what it really is and what they offer. AdFly allows you to shorten URLs and then will pay you to share those shortened links. We've all come across ridiculously long URLs which don't look very appealing, so AdFly will actually generate a shortened URL that'll send your visitors to the same place. Why do they pay you if they're doing you a favor? AdFly advertises a banner promoting their page across your page or they'll show an Ad before taking the traffic to the target page. There are both pros and cons to sharing AdFly's shortened URLs and I'm going to discuss briefly my opinions on their service. There are a ton of people desperately trying to make any type of money online. When these people discover AdFly they begin to virally spread spam on every inch of the web using this URL shortening service. Facebook has actually banned AdFly URLs because of all the spamming people have done with it. I'm not saying in any way that AdFly promotes such behaviour. They actually have it in their terms that you cannot spam when you register for an account with them. Of course no one reads these terms and conditions, so people proceed to excessively spam their shortened URL links. This has definitely hurt AdFly's credibility on the internet.
If you decide to register an account with AdFly it's completely free. As a member you are given 3 options when you shorten a URL:Direct Link to an Advertisement – the viewer will be brought to a page with an ad, where they can skip or view the full ad before the target page loads. This option pays more because it is so invasive.Banner Advertisement – you can direct the viewer to the target page with an ad on the top of the page, which gives them an option to close and view it regularly. Since this option is more discreet, it pays less. Remove All Advertising – you can certainly shorten your URL without having any ads, but you don't earn money this way. It is simply for your own personal purpose.
